Publications
The origins of BasicNeeds’ knowledge programme go back to 2001 when data collection began in India, BasicNeeds’ only field operation at that time. From 2002 onwards BasicNeeds set up field programmes in six other countries in rapid succession. The data collection quickly grew into an international research programme. The dividend from this research was original information about mental health practice and policy from seven low and middle income countries where BasicNeeds operated. To harness this large and definable body of new knowledge, BasicNeeds set up its Knowledge Programme in 2007, which has produced a number of publications.
We have categorized publications to two types. BasicNeeds' publications and external publications. The first category relates to documents self-published by BasicNeeds for the benefit of a wide audience of people interested in mental health.
5.Manuals
6.Books
7.Newsletters.
The second category relates to publications where BasicNeeds staff have either been the lead author or a member of the authorship team.
